Home Buy, Sell & Trade - Cards & Memorabilia

Cards you don't want or need??!

If any of you have any Braves, Devil Rays or Marlins cards that are just taking up space than just shoot me a pm and maybe we can work out a deal. Just remember I'm a 16 year old, so no cards that are too pricey and would preferably trade.

I'm glad Volver stepped in and was decent to this young man. Everyone else acted as if the kid is out of his league. He's a young collector which is great for the hobby. I will also step in and help the young man out.
"GOOT" send me your address and I will send you something. Good Luck with this challenging and sometimes very enjoyable hobby.

Okay, I admit, I misread the topic and just "assumed" he does not yet have a part-time job (I never meant to be insulting in anyway; I was sincerely trying to be helpful), and I do know from personal experience how hard it can be not only to get one (even so-called entry level jobs insist that you have experience if they can find it) not to mention being called lazy and such by nagging parents who think you're just slacking when you are in fact doing your best to find a job (and even AFTER getting one). My sincere apologies.

    Hand me some crow please.

  • Hey everyone, I have not started yet but will soon work part time as a bus boy at a local restaurant. I know it isn't too exciting but someone's got to do it, plus the reason that I'm only getting a job now is that I just turned 16 a month ago and got my license a week ago. I was trying to get a job at one of the local card shops but the guy that owns it wants to keep it between him and his wife which is understandable. As for my dad, he only pays for the few cards I buy off of ebay while i pay for all of my packs. I'm very into collecting baseball stuff (autographed balls, cards, pics etc.) since it's my favorite sport. If my area is any indicator of the fan base who collects cards, then the hobby is going to have some tough times coming up. I could count on one hand the number of kids in my school (1,700 kids) that I know that truly collect cards. Thanks!

PS- I don't want you guys to think that I'm just looking for free hand outs as I said that maybe we could work a deal and trade although right now my collection is barely out of the starting gates.

I was joking around with Goot, its called a sense of humor, not a fact of humor. I happen to have joked around with him before, I know he has a sense of humor, and Im pretty sure he knows I was just joking.

Trust me, I am very, very cool with anyone who wants to collect cards of any sort. Its great for the hobby, Goot is great for the hobby, he seems a decent fellow.

I hope to consider myself a decent well rounded fellow, 3.6 gpa, never touched drugs or alcohol (sorry pandrews), and remained some what of a jock (play basketball and on surf team). Thanks Publius. Not trying to brag.

  • Goot,

If you haven't already, get a "trade page" started and check out the Bench. There's a lot of people there who believe no trade is too small, and many who will go the extra mile to make sure a trade happens.
    image
  • Thanks a lot, I'll check it out.
  • Sorry if this is annoying but image
  • Ok, it really is the last time. image Sorry.
  • Goot-- at least tell a joke or something so it "appears" not as likely as a bump. lol

I forgot to ship your cards and didnt realize it until my wife asked me today "whats this box in my car for"? Oops, Going out tomorrow.

  • Ok, thanks for the advice and the cards. image
