the beckett one was cut from a sheet , I believe there are actually 3 of them in beckett holders which all came from sheets. 1 was set to go in a private deal until the buyer found out the sellers had 2 more in pre-graded status.
Wow. If it stays around there, that's all the proof I need that it's a sheeter.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

It should be spelled "Defense"
Steve
<< <i>If that's the Topps card, why does it spell "defence" the Canadian way? >>
Topps hockey cards were printed in Canada in the days before OPC hockey. The reverse is also bilingual.
My guess (based on the 79/80 OPC Gretzky 10 that sold for $80k, and the strength of the market) is probably $75k-100 k. Maybe up to $125-150. Wow!!

And that's a puurrty card.
<< <i>What's the population report on the Orr rookie? Any PSA 10s? How many PSA 9s are there? Thank you.

I show
35 BOBBY ORR 18 39 40 54 76 3 39 3 1 0 0 278
That is:
0 10s
1 9
3 8Q
39 8
3 7Q
76 7
278 total graded. I guess it's a 1/1 PSA 9.
There was a beckett 9.5 for sale for a long time, I watched it in a few auctions that ran out with no takers at $23,000.
I bet I could get $125-150 for mine.
But mines got character

That card was a known sheet cut. Otherwise, I think it would have sold among the high-end collectors.
<< <i>"I think it moved."
<< <i>$24,344 with a day and a half to go. >>

$39,661
Also, a PSA 10 Topps Gretzky rookie closed at $25,174.
I assume these prices are pre-juice.
