Just bought a box of 2007 Topps Series 1 at Target

used my wife's discount plus some other 10 percent thing.
The box says "Look for Ted Williams Cards only found in Target".

Did you pull the Jeter card?
They call me "Pack the Ripper"
it has GWB and mickey mantle photoshopped in the background like a "where's waldo" type thing..
a couple of Mantle cards and some Ted Williams stuff so far.....
They call me "Pack the Ripper"
No Jeter card but I did get him on a special card. Got tons of star cards. The few pics here are only a portion.
the Ted Williams cards are all different in the one pic....the 2007 Mantle card is pretty cool
anything worth a crap in this stuff other than the jeter I didn't get?
now I must go and hide the evidence in the trash can.
<< <i>now I must go and hide the evidence in the trash can.
I wonder how much evidence ends up in the trash in America?
<< <i>Goose...what is that in the background of the Wakefield card? The moon, the Northern Lights???? >>
Just the background he is standing in front of....Varitek's is similar
<< <i>How much was the box again? >>
well this was 3 packs shy.....so 42.00 minus 10 percent, minus 10 percent.
Some SOB got my Jeter in those 3 packs.
The note says Pain and Pleasure. Their phone number is probably there if you want to go get a tattoo.
don't trade with joestalin
sup with that?
Kevin
PS..Probably get a few bucks for that Wright
<< <i>that is for this little spot of dry skin on my eyelid, I can't think of the name of the condition but it's dry and it itches.

i thought it said something about "Pam + Pleasure".. i was gonna you ask for Pam's phone number, and if i would need the ointment afterward..
Pain and Pleasure is where I got my latest Tattoo on the back of my neck.
Stalin.

I picked up 14 packs the other day at Target, no Jeters. I haven't purchased or opened modern in a dog's age so if someone could give me the run down on this stuff like I were a 5 year-old I'd appreciate it.
Thanks
Arthur
<< <i>I might also add that the retail topps have a super rare photo variation, that no one has been able to find.

well?
I've got 2 piles of cards on my desk now from this rip....commons and stars/insert things.
The stack of stars is over 1/3 as high as the stack of commons.
<< <i>I figure, why not let him still get some enjoyment out of doing that?) >>
You're so thoughtful... what a good son!
Thanks
Kevin

Does anyone have a reliable source other than a brick and mortar store to get good prices on em ?

I got a nice stack of Stars.......Schilling, Mantle, Mantle, Damon, Vladdy, Pujols, Soriano, etc.......
<< <i>Is 2007 Topps the one with red back inserts? If so, what it red on the back? The area that is typically black?

Red vs. White is the player/team name on back in that color. I think Red is hobby only.

Thanks Donovan!

I'll take a look tonight for your red back wantlist.

<< <i>Does anybody plan on putiing any of the sets together? I bought a 36 pack box, and kinda either want to try to finish the set in red backs, or the mickey mantle subset, or the A rod 500 subset. Anyone up for some trades? I havent ever put a set together, but kind of fell in love with the cards and think it might be fun. >>
I am putting together the base set. I have no desire for my Mick or Arod cards. email me at cjb at gmail dot com if you want to trade.
FYI - the 1/1 is for every letter in his name. I've seen one other one on Ebay for the 1st "I".
<< <i>I still need about 40 red backs from this set - for some strange reason I thought it would be a good idea to put the red back set together. PM me if you have extras for trade, thanks. >>
five,
pm sent
Also, are we to believe these players gave up the jerseys they wore in the All Star game? For some it will be their only appearance, so I find it hard to believe. Or maybe they're not game worn since the card doesn't say "Game Used".

<< <i>Very cool card, but it's ridiculous that they stamp it 1/1. I mean, the guy has like 20 letters in his name. If you get an "I", are both of them 1/1's, or are they 1/2's? How do you know which one you got, the first or last? These are things we need to know. >>
Yeah - I agree. Each "I" is a 1/1. If you notice the back of the card has an "x" mark above the letter on the front. So, there is a first "I" and a second "I". LOL

This isn't from the actual All-Star game, but is from the HR Derby and other events the day before. That's why the colors are black and yellow for all the players.
Like I said, I think it's a good idea and the card is cool, but I would imagine most players are unlikely to give up their game worn All Star jersey.
Looking at the results is funny because they all have a gallery picture and it looks like people are bidding $100+ on plain letter patches. Mucky, you're looking at $100 easy for this card. Nice pull.

Edit- that makes more sense ajw.
