Need some help with the colonies

Can anyone add to this list of French Colonies?
Am I missing any?

Are you after just "modern" (20th century) ones, or are older ones good too?

Here's a few more from the 20th century:

Algeria
French Oceania (older name for French Polynesia)
Guadeloupe
Lebanon
Madagascar
Martinique
New Caledonia
New Hebrides (jointly ruled with Britain, but the coinage was entirely French colonial style)
Syria
Tonkin (northern Vietnam)
Tunisia

If you're doing French protectorates such as Tunisia, you could also add Morocco.

Also, French Somaliland and French Afars and Issas are different names for the same place, now known as Djibouti.

Hi all thanks for the posts, I think I'll just stay with the colonies for now. After that is done then I can expand to the proctorates.

Those French men were quite busy in the last century, grass never grew between there toes.

From 1864 to 1887 French Cochin China was separate from the Union of French Indo China.

shiro, thanks, I'm getting my info from the 1901-2000 Krause.

I've got a world type set collection on the go, but I think I will get more enjoyment from collecting if I specialize in one area. I've been told this before, but my hearing wasn't very good at that time.
