How much , on average, would a common coin increase

in value over the course of 10 years? I have a '97 Krause that I am still working with, one that I bought from Lordminivan. I think I am ready for an updated version.

I've found that most "common" coins change little if any in value, unless silver based, then it
depends on the price of silver

You need to be more specific. There is no universal multiplier that can be applied.

In 10 years, much classic material has gone up 50% or more, most common modern material has stayed flat, some Scandinavian material has gone down, and most Russian material has tripled or quadrupled.

It really depends on the area...

There are quite a few modern uncs that are multiples of what they
were ten years ago. Lower grade pieces are mostly flat.

That one is just 1901-and-up coverage, right? I am trying to remember the last year Krause put out the 19th and 20th century volumes under one cover. I think it was 1995. (Or was it 1993?)

Those older Krause books are worth having for that simple fact- you get nearly two centuries of coverage in one volume, whereas nowadays you have to buy a separate volume for each century. (Not to mention that the new format is rife with errors and omissions).

It's a 1997 volume and that's about where it stops.
