Pujols scores 100% on US Citizenship Test....

That Guy Is Just Amazing In Everything He Does......

Reminds me of that Dexterity /Eye Coordination Test that Both Babe Ruth and Pujols Aced...

Like I have Said Before, Athletes Like Pujols Come Along Once Every 50 Years.......Ruth, Williams, Pujols....then comes the rest.............

    What about Willie Mays?

P.S. Your sig line has an error in it--Ryan Howard was NL MVP in 2006.

i'd give him credit if he could play the outfield. he was a liablility out there, a butcher at third, lucky for him he can handle first or he would be a DH.

Let Pujols play another few years before we put him in that class. Right now, he's not even in the Top 20...

Are you referring to Ted Williams there, as being the same type of player as Albert "Crybaby" Pujols?

You need to pick up a baseball history book, and start reading.

If he actually did ace his citizenship test, that is commendable. I am impressed. It appears that he took the test seriously and prepared for it.

"Or, he got the answers in advance."

    ///////////////////////

Everybody gets the answers in advance.

The little study-guides contain the answers to
    all of the likely/possible questions.

Most 20-year old Americans would probably not
"pass" the test, without reading the guides.

What are the names of the 2 main political parties of today?

Who is the vice President of the U.S.?

What did the Emancipation Proclamation do?

Who said, "Give me liberty or give me death"?

How long is a term for a House member?

How long is a term for a Senate member?

How many terms can a House member serve for?

ahh Pujols Won the Gold Glove, and made a Great Play in The World Series that may have saved the game!!!

give credit where credit is due.........he deserves even more credit for being a great first baseman because that wasnt his natural position growing up! that is the sign of a true athlete....

SO, 6 consecutive GREAT years, that are amazingly similar holds no water with some of you?

I challenge someone to find another player with a 6 year run like Pujols (NOT INCLUDING RUTH OR WILLIAMS)................not to mention the best is yet to come..can you say Triple Crown

I'm not putting Pujols' abilities down, but as to your challenge.... Lou Gehrig comes to mind right away. I'd say he had those kind of numbers for about 12 or 13 years straight.

You can't mention Pujols with greats of the game like Gehrig, Ruth, Williams, etc. yet - to do so is absolutely ridiculous. Pujols has played 6 seasons, who knows what the rest of his career might be like? As for picking other players with six year stretches of note similar to Pujols, this thread would probably be 50 pages long. But, I'll pick one - Carl Yastrzemski (though Pujols doesn't deserve to carry Yaz's water bottle at this point) -

Agreed. Though I think it's very premature to put Puljos in the same category as Ruth, Williams, Gehrig, mays, etc., I'd have to say he is arguably the best, most productive player in MLB right now. And I'm a Mets fan.

Ok, updated all time greatest list for 2007..........

    1. Babe Ruth
    2. Ted Williams
    3. Lou Gehrig
    4. Albert Pujols

and to the post about my banner being wrong...the parenthesees for 2006 MVP are for the protest of having a player who batted .254 with RISP winning the MVP...what a joke....statistically, Howard was one of the most UNCLUTCH sluggers from the year, and his team missed the playoffs by 1 game....what a joke, how is that MOST VALUABLE? All he had to do was bat a little closer to his average , his team may have won a couple momre games, and they would have made the playoffs....

Pujols did win the only game the Cardinals won the last 10 days of the season with a HR...they got into the playoffs by 1 game, and he batted .400 with RISP..that is the definition of most vALUABLE.....PLEASE DONT GET ME STARTED, IT MAKES ME SICK TO THINK OF THE ROBBERY THAT WENT ON IN MVP!

I think that's the most ridiculous statement I've ever read on these boards. Forget who is in my signature line - to say the Pujols POSSIBLY is not in the top 20 active players today is moronic.

Look, I realize that we cannot say that RIGHT NOW he is in the top whatever of all time because he has only played six years. I think what Fandango is saying is that IF WE PROJECT HIS CAREER out over 20 years, he will be considered top players of all time. I realize that many, many players have not panned out due to a lot of things, but Pujols IS ON THE RIGHT TRACK to be one of the best of all time.

What is also being said is that if you take the first 6 seasons of ANY player in the history of baseball, Pujols is the best. Keep in mind what I just said - for the first 6 seasons. He is the ONLY player in history to hit over .300 with 30 HR and 100 RBI's in his first 2 seasons. Oh, by the way, he has done in his first SIX seasons.

And about the "crybaby" business, let's keep it on the field. We can nitpick about anybody off the field.

This can not be a serious statement. Anyone who doesn't have Pujols in their top 3 should have their head examined.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

i have disagreed with mr. frankhardy and mr. fandango vehemently about pujols off the field actions, but pujols is the best offensive player in the majors today. i personally am not a fan of his for many of his comments and actions but if i were building a team in the majors he would be the foundation.

if he keeps up this pace he will be mentioned in 50 years with the greatest hitters off all time.

i still predict that a-rod will pass barry bonds in all time hr's. many people don't like rodriguez for his big contract, choking in the playoffs and many of his actions. he has 464 home runs at age 30. at 35 a year for the next decade he would pass 800.

Thank you mr theczar. We can agree to disagree on the off field stuff. However, when it comes to on the field, I don't think there is any denying his abilities.

Are you guys serious about including Pujols in the Top 20 players of all-time, let alone Top 5. Listen don't get me wrong he is an out of this world talent, but he has only played 6 years. To put him ahead of the likes of Mays, Aaron, Musial, Cobb, Clemente, Mantle, DiMaggio is incredulous.

If he is putting up these numbers or close to it in the year 2016 then we can have a discussion, but until than it needs to be tabled.

Apparently, you did not read my post. Try the 4th post up from yours and read carefully.

Glyn, what is it? If a player puts up good numbers he is automatically on steroids? Why is it that some people think that they only legendary players played before the 1960's? If find it incredible to think that a modern player CAN'T be as good as some of the legends.

<< <i>Pujols did win the only game the Cardinals won the last 10 days of the season with a HR...they got into the playoffs by 1 game, and he batted .400 with RISP..that is the definition of most vALUABLE.....PLEASE DONT GET ME STARTED, IT MAKES ME SICK TO THINK OF THE ROBBERY THAT WENT ON IN MVP! >>

Why not put (2002) (2003) on your pic too?

Frank - I was not replying to your post directly, but replying to the temp of the discussion. A few people had him Top 5 of all-time - insane.

I think we need to appreciate what he has done and what he could do...you see this kind of player every 30 years or so.

Pujols' chest is the size of hood on a '57 Chevy, but I am not convinced it's b/c of roids. Better training tools and technology probably have alot to do with it.

when Baroid Bondz is in jail, and his records are stricken from the Books (Max Kellerman agrees), then Pujols will be awarded those MVP's he came in second to a cheating Hump....

And yes, i know pujols has only played 6 (albeit amazing) years, so when i say top 3 ever, i am extrapolating his career.....
