Can someone put a surcharge on a Paypal Purchase?

never saw anything like this before. anyone know if it is legal with E-Bay?

$30 for using Paypal?

definitely NOT legal. ebay explicity states you can't add a surcharge to cover paypal or listing/final value fees.

Sellers may not charge eBay buyers an additional fee for their use of ordinary forms of payment, including acceptance of checks, money orders, electronic transfers or credit cards. Such costs should be built into the price of the item.

Account suspension

Forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings

Loss of PowerSeller status

PayPal users are not permitted to impose a surcharge or any other fee for accepting PayPal as payment.

It is a sharp card, but slight tilt bothers me more than the $50 in additional fees.

There is one on every listing... Go to the botom of the listing and click on report this listing.

I emailed him and asked him to remove it (wording). Let's see if he does or eBay does! LOL

...also I emailed him the link to ebay and PP, some sellers just don't know about it.

Either way! WOW! That's one heck of a SC.

The seller can't remove the wording now, he has bids on the item. The only thing he can do now is add to the listing.

Looks like eBay will be removing this listing.

FYI, I emailed the seller and asked if he was going to list it again and this is what he said...

No, I didn't! Ebay is too worried that they weren't going to make enough money off the auction! In my description I noted that if payment was made by paypal, then their would be an additional $30.00 added to the final bid amount. Anyway, go figure, Ebay owns paypal, so I am assuming that they would go bankrupt if they didn't get that $30.00. HA! I will put it back up for auction soon! Thanks for your interest. Michael
