Here's a new 1815-A NGC AU-55 Louis XVIII 20 Franc Gold Piece that I purchased at auction today from a fellow forum member, which appears to be a nice eye-appealing example of a classic French pre-Napoleon gold piece.

    CoinKat: Thanks for your post. I stand corrected from a historical context, as Louis XVIII reigned between Napoleon Bonaparte and the later Napoleonic Kings.

    I have always thought the French gold coins of this era were interesting and way too cheap!

    Especially when collecting by date and mint.
