Moving Day on the IKE registry set

New # 4 set now being parted out!!! Thanks to Coast Guard Craig for the ability to upgrade my # 2 set to the #4 spot on the All-Time Finest set.

Some of this set will be parted out. Of the tough stuff in the set the 71-P, 72-P, 73-P in 66 are gone. The other keys are available, as are the common coins in the set.

Also anyone need a Sac in MS68 2000-P @ $125 or a 1999-D SBA in 67 @ $40.

PM with any interest.

The 76-D Type I is gone, the 76-P Type I is gone, the 76-S is gone. Of the tough stuff, only the 74-P is left. It's a nice one at that for anyone who needs it. They are going like hot cakes. I think I'll break my record for Ike sales in a day tonight.

The 74-P is gone as well. Looks like more movement in the Ike registry set up coming.

All the extra coins that have not been spoken for are now on e-bay. Thanks to all those who expressed interest or bought.

Good luck to all.

Is the 1976 Type I in MS66 also gone? I'd be a buyer if it's still available. (Just my luck- it's probably considered 'one of the keys').

  • Nah, that one is a piece of cake. Don't let him try to rob you for more than $100 on it. image

I know it's a Big Bad Boy in full MS66- but does it rank with the 1972 or even the 1971 in GEM? I honestly don't know.

  • It's neck-in-neck with the 1971. Ok, maybe $200. image

Well I hate to disappoint you, but both pieces 71-P and 76-P Type I in 66 are gone. They go lightening quick.

Now that I don't own them, my opinion should bring more credibility. I still think the 76-P Type I in 66 is tougher than the 71-P. The 71-P is a first year of issue, so people saved rolls. More will come out. The 76 is in the 75 mint set, but when is the last time you found one that would even make 65. Maybe 1 out of 500 sets for a 65. Also remember that the 76-P Type I was the last coin to be graded MS66 by PCGS. Almost several years after the 71 and 72-P. That should say something. There are also 33% more 71-P's in 66 than 76-P's. One of the 76's is a type II. I still wonder are there others out there. I'll bet at least 2-3 others. That can't happen on the 71. Also there is no way one would crack out a 66 in hoeps of a 67, so I don't think you have any regrades in either number.

As Alan Hager said about high grade Ikes "Happy Hunting" (Take him for what he is worth - another thread maybe), but he has made me a lot of money by getting me into Ikes back in 1985 when he was paying $3/coin over greysheet bid for each Ike. I was sending him hundreds. Of those I alsways saved the best, which was the genesis of my set.

    Mr Segoja:

How about opening up your number 2 set so we can gape at what you haveimage.

    Wow, what a shake up!

At first I celebrated not having to compete with
segoja's second and craig's first set. Then I realized
the highest coins in these two sets would just get bought
up by the others I'm presently competing against.

It's just going to get tougher. image

    Greg,

I opened them up before I read your message. They may take a day or so to show up as open. You would have guessed what is in the set anyway. No pop 1,2,3, or 4 Ikes. Just a few single digit pops, but the higher single digits.
