How do some sellers have the b***s to do this?

I'm sorry but I just don't get how sellers, who consistently overgrade their stuff end up with 99.9 ratings. I see this kind of stuff all the time. I mean, saying this item is almost perfect??? Yep, almost perfect except the centering, the corners and the surface. Other than that, almost perfect. Can someone explain this mentality to me? I know there are sellers on this board but honestly, I can't imagine any of the frequent posters pulling crap like this.

Almost Perfect!!!

Depends on who's point of view you are using.
#LetsGoSwitzerlandThe Man Who Does Not Read Has No Advantage Over the Man Who Cannot Read. The biggest obstacle to progress is a habit of “buying what we want and begging for what we need.”You get the Freedom you fight for and get the Oppression you deserve.

  • People hold feedback hostage on ebay--nobody wants to be honest and risk their own feedback scores just to neg a seller. Or maybe there's a bizzare understanding between the buyer and the seller that cards will be overgraded "par for the course", and they know it and bid accordingly. Of course, the latest tactic is to stick a worthless card in a PRO or GEM ELITE holder and "let the grade speak for itself"--equally deceptive but it gives the seller another out.

    Yup.

Folks Who Bite Get Bitten. Folks Who Don't Bite Get Eaten.
  • yes, the feedback system is seriously flawed. EBAY should have fixed this before they "fixed" the bidding system. The bidding system was fine; the feedback system is a joke.

  • here's another beauty....the guy has no clue about the grading company (CSA) but is somehow willing to sell $18K card for $2K. Now, that sounds like someone who knows quite a bit about CSA. And the seller has a 99% rating.

I have no idea about this grading company but I'll sell you this $18K card for $2K because I am a great guy with a 99% rating

  • Actually ebay is working on something called Feedback 2.0

It will break down feedback in a few categories. Something like Shipping, Communication, Accuracy of Item Description, etc.

May roll out this year. I think it's getting tested on ebay's site in other countries.
