1960 Topps George Witt Error??

In breaking a 1960 set today I noticed card # 298 George Witt spelled on the reverse with only one t at the end of Witt
The several I referenced all have it spelled correctly WITT

Anyone else have this card and can you look at yours

    The 298 Witt in my 60's set has two "T's" front and back!!! Actually, I have duplicates and each is spelled correctly. You may have found something interesting!!!

    I am going to say it is clearly not an error, the second 'T' has just been scratched off.

    I can not tell if it is scratched or a print defect from the scan. I can see that George had a really bad 1959
