Now that I covered/posted the big opportunity that helped me hit some great numbers
last year, here is my 2006 final recap:

> Had my highest silver count year (40 something - lost track of a few)
> 2nd oldest coin found since I started the hobby (1811)
> oldest U.S. coin found (bust 1/2 dime)
> relics I never thought I'd find (especially the tongue/wreath buckle tongue),
> Most seateds for a year (11)
> But, not as much jewelry (didn't focus on that as much last year but did get a few
keepers). I'll post my favorites below...

Thanks to all of you that make it happen here on this forum, and also thanks to
those that post on a regular basis.

I had a lot of fun with the hobby last year. It will be a tough act for me to follow...

    Wes- thanks again... glad you liked that one. I still remember digging that one last
    year. I was meeting a friend and right before he got there, I got this signal that was
    around the same as a pull tab, dug it, and was amazed to see that it was a coin. It
    wasn't until the next week, after posting it here, that someone mentioned an old
    habit of "folding" a coin. Interesting because you can see this was folded right in the
    middle, it's about a 90-degree bend, and you don't see scratches (as if a plow had
    hit it)

    LM- thanks, I look at that picture and am amazed that those are my finds! I'll tell you
    right now that I'll plan to do a year end post next year even when I don't have half as
    much stuff to post! image (as for the seated count, that's due to the incredible sidewalk
    demolition opportunity I had last year... lots of effort but I knew that may never
    happen again)

    Willie- I've never found a "spy coin" (as far as I know image)

    HKnJ- Thanks... very possible that I won't even find a single seated this year.
    (I wonder if the old-timers would get loads of seateds during those early years
    when detectors were first introduced) image

    Very nice jewelry finds too. I'm partial towards the older stuff, and your old gold locket is very cool!

    Nice finds. I believe the stone in that ring to be Fire Opal. I wear a 925 silver ring with an identical stone along with Onyx and Diamonds. image

    That's a really nice ring that you wear.... The stones really do look the same. I was thinking that the ones in the ring I found might be fire opals (love those colors). Thanks for the info and picture!
