Previous vintage grading specials?

I've accumulated a stack of Diamond Stars and T206 that I'd like to have graded. The way I see it, I've got 3 options:

1) Submit through the current PSA registry special at $13/card
2) Submit through SGC at $10/card
3) Wait for a PSA or SGC vintage special and submit then

My question for those that have been here a while is what kind of vintage specials does PSA or SGC run? Ever seen any $6 specials?

    I think I've seen SGC do $8 per card on old stuff. I'm going to be in the same boat with some '41s. I'd like to do the registry, but it's stupid to even consider slabbing a vg/ex common at $13.
