Autographed stickers on cards, what a load of fecal matter !

Hi all

This somewhat new idea, of giving an athlete a sheet of blank stickers (he signs them) and than someone at the card company applying them to the card is
complete crap !!

On top of that, most times the printing on the sticker messes up the visual identification of the the autograph !

Am i the only one who can`t stand (and will not buy) this new card auto fad ??

Its not my favorite thing. I do own a few sticker auto's that look nice but nothing beats an auto on the card.

Lee - the 2006 Bowman Originals product is specifically targeting modern collectors who share your distate. I think their advertising campaign is that each pack contains two "player-touched" cards, e.g. the player actually touched and autographed the cards as opposed to some lackey slapping a sticker from a sheet of 50 stickers and slapping it onto a card.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
  • You must be careful also, i was considering the purchase of a (Arnold Palmer / Jack Nicklaus) auto card.

The pic did not really look like a "sticker auto" but i wanted to be sure,, i emailed the seller,, sure enough the card had "sticker auto" disease !

    ASK BEFORE YOU BUY !!

  • I'm not a big autograph guy. But does the silver foil type sticker help in the sig to not fade. Seems I've seen some badly faded autograph insert cards, but the one's on foil sticker seem to look better?
