OT: Anyone Ever Use Stub Hub? (update)

Hi,

I'm thinking about using Stub Hub to purchase World Series tickets. Does anyone have any experiences, good or bad, to share? I'm looking for tickets to game 6 and/or 7, which at this point obviously are "if necessary". Anyone ever had issues getting money back for games that didn't occur?

Someone else may know better, but I would not purchase any until either game is set to be played for sure. I may be speaking outta my arse, but I think game 6 is a definite!

The problem is that prices go up as the games become more certain. Already, game 6 tickets are going for more than game 7. Game 7 tickets are a bargain given how much they will be on Sunday morning.

That is the thing I missed out on, prices will jump. Does StubHub not guarantee you get your tickets or that you see it somehow? It is one thing purchasing them for face value at the box office, but if you spend way more than face value, do not know if that is just a chance you take! That is one reason why I am not planning on being in attendance, 1) I do not see paying that much for a ticket, and 2) losing out on a few grand is not worth it! All I know for certain, is I will be at the State Theatre, Cheli's Chili, or the Towne Pub (spelling?), and upon a win, I will be partying along with those who went!

I've only used StubHub as a seller, but I have been very happy with the whole process. They more or less guarantee delivery of the tickets, read the terms on the site. Basically once you agree to buy tickets, the seller is notified and is instructed to print out a FedEx label for shipping so the whole transaction is trackable.

Sellers pay 15% of sales price commission. No charge to buyers.

I sold San Jose Sharks tickets, not exactly a super hot item, both over face enough to cover the fees. I was skeptical at first, but am now sold.

MooseDog, are you still at the mercy of the seller to get the tickets into the mail (FedEx) in order to get them in time?

Also, as I understand it, buyer pays 10% fee as well.

Stub hub doesn't pay the seller until delivery is made and verified. A friend of mine has sold many sets of cubs tix and prefers it to ebay. Buy game 7 now, I believe that stub hub has a mandatory full refund policy if event does not occur. I bought both game 7's of 2003 & 2004 Red Sox Yankees in advance for half what they went for on day of game. Good luck.

StubHub charges a 10% transaction fee based upon the final ticket(s) value.

I've used them as both a buyer and seller and have never had any problem....Very reputable

Well, based on the recommendations of the board, I bought 2 tickets to game 7 of the World Series yesterday at about 10:00 AM. By noon today, I was holding 2 mint tickets. Is this a great world or what?

So far, I'm very impressed. Now if the game is not played, supposedly I get back every cent. If that happens, we'll see how it goes.
