Insuring cards via UPS or Postal

I remember a post stating that certain shipping companies won't shipped cards insurred. Is this true? I want to send a set worth $5500 and want it covered.

Thanks for you help

  • Send it registered mail with the USPS. It's the safest way to ship anything of value.

Use solid color tape for registered, they will not accept clear.
  • With a card that valuable registered mail is the only way to send it.

Registered mail must be shipped in a box with ALL openings taped with that brown paper tape you have to moisten yourself. Forget the exact name of the stuff.

And if somebody wants to point out a place that tape can be obtained online, that would be very much appreciated. Even the post office doesn't seem to carry it.

Walmart has the brown tape. Make sure you don't get a glossy finish on the tape.

the post offices around here provide the tape for registered mail. it's kept behind their counter at my post office - no charge for it.
  • Office Depot and Staples carry it.

Our PO has it for customer use as well
