1987 Donruss Greenwell error

I was skimming old Becketts and saw that Beckett said it will not list the 87 Donruss Greenwell version as well as the 89 Fleer Ripken saw cut as they are both easily counterfited. I Googled the Greenwell but came up empty handed. Anyone know what the error is?

  • The error was a small red curved line on the front of the card. I can't remember exactly where it was located. When I had a bunch of Greenwell's, I had quite a few of both so I don't think they are that difficult.

It was a red diagonal line that showed up on the sleeve of his jersey. For a while it was a pretty hot card, until people realized that they could make their own at home.

My cousin was a huge collector of all cards Greenwell. He probably has a bunch of them. I also remember the Dale Murphy reverse negative from 89 UD. I always wish I had one.
