They had packs at one of the National Conventions. Not sure which one or all of them. They were a promotional thing that Topps were selling. I hear they had so much left over that they sold boxes to dealers at quite a discount.

On a serious note, if someone really paid 10 million dollars for this non vintage etopps card or whatever this is, would they classify as STUPID. Think of all the great things you could do with 10 million like helping childrens hospitals, feeding the poor or even hiring a sniper to take care of taliban insurgents.......anyway I had to say something......

Anyone know someone in the IRS. Tell him since his card is valued at $10 million, he will have to now pay taxes on
that, claiming unearned income tax. Just like the person who caught that McGwire home run ball, that its like a million
dollar gift that the IRS needs to clain taxes on. Bet if he got a email from them, he would sure pull that auction and
think twice about ever putting up some hugh fake price. What would the eBay price be just to even list that auction
at the price. That is just throwing money out the window isn't it...

C & C and his brother were called out by their shill tactics on the Etopps boards. He always overprices his stuff and takes advantage of the unsuspecting. That card was in the National Hotboxes two years ago. They charged $75 a box which gave you an aftermarket stamped 1 of 1 card.

What's worse about that guy is he is really pompous about his auctions and will give retaliatory feedback if you get screwed by one of his auctions (or so I've heard)...

Thats a shadow on the top left. I just think he is fooling around and having some fun with it. 16000 feedback tells me him and his friends are having a good laugh. He's waiting for the best Q and A of the year. Who knows, maybe he wants to get on talk shows with this auction.

I hear what you're saying but I don't think from the way this guy is wording his auction (pasted below) that he is completely "fooling around" - I think he's hoping for some kid of nice bid out there - perhaps he's figuring one sucker is all it takes - seems like typical ebay selling strategy for some ebayers.

First off the card was not stamped and sealed by Etopps. It was stamped and sealed by a collector or group of collectors with the endorsement by Etopps for the National in Chicago. Etopps supplied the holders and holograms. Like another stated they were inserted in Hot Boxes and the possibility of a 1 of 1 justifies the initial cost for the box. Those on the Etopps message board think this is just harmless advertising. I personally think all these Etopps 1 of 1's are just a pile of dung.

I remember when that super-scammer Ken Goldin was trying to sell those Pro Graded 10 Tiger Woods rookie cards on TV for around $20,000 each. He pitched those cards for many months. I have no idea how many he sold but these same cards I occasionally see on Ebay listed for around $40, and they don't even sell. For some reason this auction reminded me of that.

Ken Goldin scammed many people out of millions of dollars. These facts have already been well documented elsewhere. Just out of curiosity I thought I'd Google "ken goldin" to see what the scam-boy is up to these days. Turns out he has become a "professional" poker player. Figures! - LOL
