FSH: # 8 "Just 2 bit Quarters" SHQ set....

I have incurred some unexpected medical expenses thus I find myself in this position. I have passionately chased these for years, and find myself coming up short as the series winds down. But, my wife, whom I love dearly, has had a medical condition that had to be taken care of. Insurance only takes care of so much, the rest lies on me. So there really is no question as to priorities.

I hope some of these nice examples find suitable homes. That said I am accepting offers for individual coins. I won't be jumping at the first offer to come along on these, so please wait a week for me to let you know whether your offer has been accepted. I will acknowlege all offers received. You can email me, 7557rb@comcast.net or pm me.

I realize that there are a lot of these that will end up being consigned to TT or wherever. But I wanted to give my fellow shq enthusiasts the opportunity here first. I will accept paypal (add 3% to cover fees please) or money order on these. Shipping will be by usps and you can decide the how fast you want to receive these (f/c vs. priority) which I will round off to the next highest $ amount. I will require you to purchase insurance @ actual usps rates.

Thanks Tim. Diane is recovering nicely from her surgery. I just hope it solves the problem and that further services aren't necessary. These modern day doc's like to beat around the bush it seems. I just loved the part where they say "you have an 80% chance of full recovery" and this other statements "if this doesn't work we will go and try another proceedure." Really gives you confidence in what they are doing!

Don thank you for the kind words. I appreciate it. I have an understanding what you did recently.

I want to thank those of you that have shown an interest in the collection. Some interesting results without a doubt.

Greg, thank you for the pm and the offer.

Now a question I need to put forward to you guys. As expected there is interest in certain coins, and none on others. Would it be acceptable if I was to show the high offer on the coins? I have a few coins with more than 1 offer and offers on groups of coins. Hard to keep the playing field even for everyone involved. You can post answers here or pm me or ignore the question. I'm curious to see what would be considered proper proceedure.

    Roger

It has been said that I need to put a price tag on the quarters in this set. I have a variety of reasons for not doing so. The value I put on a particular coin, may not be the same as the value others may put on it, or the value given by pcgs, fmv, or whatever guide people may want to use. I am not a dealer, and am not as in tune with the market as I probably should be. Also, if I put a price on a coin, and that price is met, I would then feel obligated to sell the coin at that point in time. Thus preempting any offers that may or may not have been made later but during the the time frame which I gave for offers to be submitted. This is counter productive to the whole idea of accepting offers vs selling outright at a set price. I think that not setting prices has left the door open for me to decline an offer and at the same time gives people time to consider, reconsider, or retract an offer. There are weaknesses to this line of thinking, but so be it.

Here is a list of the coins with offers and the highest amounts offered. I will adjust the offers if and when needed.

    99D DE $332
    99D PA $675
    99D NJ $374
    00P MD $135
    00D MD $499
    00D NH $800
    01P NC $35
    01D NC $392
    01D KY $500
    04D MI $535
    04P FL $392
    04D FL $29
    04P IA $850
    04D WI $64
    05P CA $350
    05D CA $350
    05P MN $450
    05D KS $1350
    05D WV $350

There is also and offer of $2000 for the 02p OH, 02p LA, 02p IN, 05p OR, 05d OR, 06p NV, 06d NV, 06p NE, and the 06d NE.

Kind of interesting results. Makes me wonder what I seen in all the other coins image.

If I made a mistake, don't hesitate to let me know. If anybody wants to change an offer, do so. And if you change your mind and want to retract an offer, that's ok too. This is the beauty of offers. They are not binding like bids are in an auction. Please, if you're going to make an offer on any of these or the other coins in the set, please do so by 8:30 pm Sat Aug 26. That way I can let everyone know which offers I have accepted on Sunday, and get the packaging done. Thanks for your interest in these and I especially want to thank each and every one of you all for all the kind words, prayers, and thoughts. It says a lot about the coin collecting community, and the people that hang out here. Diane has had many smiles from your comments. image

There are a few of you that have inquired about how much I want for these coins. I hope this helps with my reasoning for not putting prices on the coins. So if you're still interested make an offer. At least this way you know what the offers are and what amount you need to offer, at least on the coins with offers.

Check out the list at the bottom of the this post, there are a lot of coins there.

About an hour left to make offers here. The offers above are current. I will be accepting some, and declining others. Thank you everyone for your help, offers, and kind thoughts. This will help me quite a bit.

I want to take a moment to thank Larry, your shoes are probably hard to fill. And again, Michael Sulinski and family. I know that what you did is something freinds do, it was honestly an unexpected show of kindness and thought. Oh yeah, lets not forget that hardheaded and persistant John, don't be a stranger. image

I had the opportunity to meet a couple of collectors on the phone this week. It was pretty cool to put a voice to a couple of names.

For those of you who add these to your collections, I hope you enjoy these. Good luck with your sets. And again, if you get these coins and don't like what you receive, please don't hesitate to let me know. I will give you a full refund, including the shipping both ways.

Why do you think they call it a medical "practice", I hope she does well and good luck on your sales...
