What is the stuff called that cleans/polishes slabs?

I know its been discussed on other occasions but what is the stuff called that removes scratches and cleans up slabs? I have some that are pretty nasty that I would like to make them look new again.

Thanks

I"ve used Novus and Brillianize. I liked Novus a bit more, but nothing really fixed deep scratches.

here's a link...works good. search around on Ebay a little, you can find better prices. (this auction is for 8 oz. bottles...I think you can get it in 4 oz. bottle or even smaller) -Claude

Novus 2 is the stuff I used. I get it at any one of several plexi suppliers in West L.A., I'm sure it's available whever plexiglass is sold.

  • Believe it or not, toothpaste works. A lot of people have used it for years to get scratches out of watch dials....

Matt, I have used Novus and it worked fairly well. Dont expect a miracle from it, But it does pretty good for small scratches if you dont mind a little scrubbin.

Forgot about that- I used it all the time for scuba masks and it works well. Stops them from fogging up a bit too.

Cool, It should work well for me since I take my slabs in the tub with me every night.

Matt, you've redefined the meaning of "kinky" in my book. Finally, my wife will think I'm about as straight as they come after hearing this one...

if you search the coin forum you should find some darn good products as it has been discussed there numerous times. In fact, we even had a member (Pushkin) that made and marketed a product he called "scratch away". Don't know if he still does or not.
