Good evening: This is actually the first time in a long time that I didn't win or bid on anything. I thought about placing a bid on the Dimaggio/Mantle framed photo with ticket stub, but It went a little higher than I wanted to spend. Heck, I've been spending an average of $3,000 on ebay in the last few months and I don't want my inventory to jump back up to were it was a year ago. I can't wait to see who won what in this auction. Rich
I needed a Dean autograph for my autographed HOF card set.
It's a 1936 World Series Championship Team Signed ball. The DiMaggio is a clubhouse signature, and the ball has seen better days, but it has Gehrig and Lazzeri, along with Gomez and Ruffing, and I got it for well under $1000. Can't beat that with a stick.
I actually like balls like that - I can still see the Lou sig - and most important - you know that "he" actually held that ball and signed it for someone. A piece of history. Congratulations.
Anthony
Was the boxing set graded? Which 51T wrapper did you get?
thanx for sharing guys I have never participated in a Mastro auction - some day down the road I hope.
I won the Leaf boxing set that had the SGC graded cards. No way I'll ever be able to complete it, due to the scarcity of Graziano. I did get to hold the Graziano a few months ago, as close as I'll ever get.
This is the wrapper I got
and it came with this
Can't imagine keeping this part.

<< <i>I think it's actually caramel, not gum. As a dentist your professional opinion would be not to ingest this? Even as a historical experiment?
I"m too low on wall space to frame these (or anything else) so I have the wrappers in the binder with the sets. >>
I wasn't thinking Anthony
It doesn't look like gum - wasn't there caramel put in one type of packaging for red or blue backs?
On the eating part? I understand that the rearrangement of the protein molecules over time produces a configuation similar to lysergic acid di·eth·yl·am·ide - very hallucinogenic - in fact, I believe the developer of the 75T set ate a piece - the colors!

Seemed like a pretty weak auction by Mastro standards.

Pass on the gum and keep the card.
Do you frame the wrappers or what?
