    Look like dip residue or some kind of liquid residue toning.

    A longtime friend collects ASE's and keeps them in his gun safe. 2 yeas ago when I last saw them, they were developing simililiar toning. He only buys his coins from the mint and doesn't have any other involvement in the numismatic community, so is oblivious to the whole AT/NT discussion, or the impact of toning for that matter. I've wondered how his coins will be viewed. AT or NT?

    Natural toning, slightly pumped photos. Keep in mind the eagles are 99.9% pure silver and as such will tone quickly and to some interesting colors. What you want to look out for on these are coins that have toned in a very even and clean manner with smooth gradations between colors - these are coins that have been cleaned prior to toning and as such, were most likely done purposefully.

    MY "girls" tones naturaly like that in a whitman clssic album.
    I started putting them in there since 1986.

    The only difference being that your Girls are much older than those in the auction. Perhaps the auction coins are NAT. (Naturally Assisted Toning)
    I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.
