Authentic G/U items?

Hello all,
I was wondering how you can tell wether items are game used or not? I'm not aware of the bat manufacturing process, but would it be difficult and ultimately futile to "forge" a G/U bat?
I am enquiring in regards to the following ebay auctions:
Adam Morrisey GU bat
and
Dave Nilsson GU Bat
Both sellers have good feedback, but the 2nd seller having so many g/u items, would that be suspicious????
Any help would be appreciated.
Mark.

  • Well I would want to ask more questions if they were high profile players but I don't think there is a huge market for these two players. I don't think it would be worth the work to make two bats look game used that weren't.

Both of the bats you listed are good. The Rawlings and Cooper bats are pretty straightforward with labeling, etc. They both seem to show very nice use, if they stay in your price range go for them with no reservation.

Sorry, I didn't read the last part of your post close enough the first time.

Most of the teams now sell game used items through their clubhouse stores at the ballpark or through fan fest and charity auctions. Having game used items is now very easy. There are also many dealers in game used uniforms and equipment so there are plenty of people that have many items available. I'm just a small time collector and I have at least 100 game used items in my collection so I don't think it would be odd for someone to have a large number of game used items for sale, rather it shows that they deal often in these items.
