sniping is a fact of life.
I used to only manually "snipe" but I cannot be at the PC 24/7 unlike others.
I also go after "commodities" so if I don't win 1 auction there is usually another one around the corner.

With a sniping program, I don't have to worry about being at my PC, power being off, and I can set it so if I win the first auction, the other bids never kick in.

Whining about sniping won't help. It is here. It has helped me bid on auctions where, if I didn't snipe, the price would NOT have been driven up where the other person won by having a higher bid than my snipe (but it may have been a lot lower) or where I won.

So, sniping helps especially as the number of ebay items has increased.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Yeah, boy, as a seller, there's nothing more I hate than seeing a coin go from $75 to $130 in the last 5 seconds of the auction! o.O

it is WRONG only if you do not win the particular auction lot that you sniped

but in general sniping is extremely low class

Absolutely not! Its a poker game my friend.

Some auctions you just play the highest maximum amount you're willing to pay for an item. Other auctions you decide what that amount will be and then play it just before the auction ends provided your highest has not already been exceeded.

The whole point of "sniping" is to avoid a bidding war where both bidders end up paying way too much for a coin.

Depends on your perspective. If you're a seller with shilling on the brain, then snipers can really ruin your day. If you're an unknowlegeable cheapskate bidder ( no offence to the unknowlegeable cheapskate bidders out there image ) the snipers are just waiting to hit you with their best shot.

And finally if you're a figety buyer who wants something and hates to have shillers drive your bid up - then you are left wondering who in he!! is complaining. image

I don't understand the question. Sniping is completely within the rules established by the auction venue. Just because some bidders don't like it, I certainly don't see how any sensible argument can be made that it's "wrong".
