in U.S. Coin Forum
the two-cent piece is exactly twice as heavy than the indian head cent. And the same double volume, since the metal make-up is identical. If you compare their radii, the two-center is of course thicker. It turns out that if you take their surface areas, there is only a 50% increase. The larger coin is thicker. Were these thickness and diameter specs chosen this way for a reason?
