My "snipe" fired with 27 seconds left in the auction?>

  They do that crap sometimes during peak hours... better than not placing the bid at all. I'm still scared to set the snipe time to less than 8-10 seconds so I don't get shut out if I am bidding on an auction that ends at a busy time.

  Nothing like charging out of the trench 27 seconds before the rest of the army. The "bad" guys get a bunch a free shots at you.

  I use esnipe.com with 3 seconds.. haven't had a problem yet.

  sounds like you need justsnipe.........5 free auctions that snipe well below 27 seconds. never had a problem yet.

  I concur, justsnipe works just fine. However, you have to be a member ($5) a month if you want unlimited usage and snipes under 5 seconds.
