I'M SICK N TIRED OF EBAY SELLERS WHO

list items for sale & never list a grade for the items listed on ebay.......usually they have a pathetic scan so there is no way to ascertain the grade visually.........so how are we supposed to make sensible bids if we no have clue what we are bidding on.......then some sellers have the nads to tell me not to bid if i don't like it when i ask for a grade.........great business people........well actually only a tiny % of people selling on ebay do it for a living.......but it's obvious......just read their listings.......some offer expensive cards & don't offer even 1 sentence telling the reader what they are selling......talk about laziness.........anyways am i the only person who feels this way? just curious

    I have imposed a few rules on myself because of the way some sellers list. I am thankful that I haven't been burned on one of my more expensive wins.

    I never bid if there isn't a good scan or seller requests immediate payment or if I see more than one grade assigned by the seller (I actually saw a guy list mint in the title and NM/Mt and near mint in the description WOW). I don't bid on the "1of1" listers who are listing a 1 of 25 and go on to say it's the only #1 of the 25. That reasoning make every card listed a 1of1, no two things are exactly alike. I never bid on PRO holdered cards....got 1 and it was laughable. If you see anything that puts you off, don't bid. You will probably regret it.

    The vast majority of sellers and biddders on eBay are great people, however there's lots of money being bid and the crooks operate on eBay, sometimes out in the open. Watch closely, check feedback, it's a flawed system, but it can also save you.

    Good luck! Unless of course you are bidding against me!image

  • I usually don't write much about items I am selling. Just put a good/decent scan and explain what the card is and payment methods. If people have question I'll answer it, but I don't feel like wasting my time like other sellers and hyping up an auction. I would rather keep it short and simple.

    I show a very good scan of the item and only mention something about its condition if flawed. I'm VERY specific on vintage. I don't deal much in grading, but consider that a buyer of vintage may well be. Aside from that, I once got burned for speculating a grade on a card in my auction. I said I could not see it getting less than a 7, and it came back with a 6.5 and they were all over me. That was the only and last time I did that...

    I must be doing something fairly right though. Been buying and selling on ebay for about 4 years. I'm just short of 1,000 (998) feedback and have yet to get a neg (100% positives).

  • Here's another bad example;
    eBay FRAUD

    The listing clearing shows a picture that states "The Complete Set of 484 cards" Yes, I was hoping to get a complete set of 1989 Bowman to break down for grading on some colleagues collections (i.e. Brett, Griffey Jr, Ryan, etc). This seller clearly tried to pull a fast one and break the set open, pull out the 2 Griffey Jr cards(#142 & #259 w/dad) AND the Nolan Ryan (#154), then list it on eBay as a set! (The Brett had a bent corner, too - I'm sure that's factory).

    I know, What do you expect for $0.99? >>>ANSWER: I expect an honest eBay seller!
    (figure in shipping, the fact I now need to find these cards and the loss is even greater)

    Buyers BEWARE of this eBay seller (prediator1). Feel free to drop him an email at coop9978@bellsouth.net

    There are several issues that get me. Saying a card is PSA 9, when it is really PSA 9 OC, then trying to say that PSA 9s are worth so much. I hate when sellers use PSA in there title when card is not even graded. I have even seen some people use the word Topps in their title when the card is not even made by Topps. Sorry for the gripes.

    It might just be me, but I don't want to try and assign a grade to cards, because whoever gets the card might disagree and cause a big fracas. I provide a nice scan, and I'll accept a return if they're really dissatisfied, but forgive me if my reasonable attempts to Cover My A$$ets (and ebay rating) distrub you image
