Most Expensive PSA 1?
8.25.05 9:51 p.m.
Dear Group,
With the exception of a Honus Wagner or some crazy rarity like a Fred Lindstrom,
what's the most you ever seen for a PSA 1? I ask this because a 1909 E92 Dockman
& Sons Honus Wagner Batting PSA 1 just closed for $2,426.00 on ebay. Here is the
link:

This is a fairly substantial sub of money for a PSA 1, especially considering the poor
condition of the card.

What about the N172 California League cards from Mastro that sold for about $50k - $60k in SGC 10 condition....

In most cases i agree. Did one just end at under a grand the other day?
that buyer as you say either got a deal of the century or ripped off.

Wow! $532.00 to $2426.00! I guess we should all be so card savvy.

I'm not counting the results of this weeks '14 Matty. There were too many questions about the legitimacy of the auction, and I doubt the deal was completed as normal.

(1) A T206 Ty Cobb with "Ty Cobb" back in PSA 1 would be near the top. I have been looking for one for years.
(2) 1903 E107 Breisch-Williams - probably any HOFer would fetch top dollar if they ever hit the market.

edit: These would probably be classified as "crazy rarities."
