I notice on the US and world coin forums that giveaways are fairly common. Would anyone of the regulars here (I know its not many), object to giveaways in the Stamp Forum.

I think it would be a nice idea, but most of the people here are quite advanced collectors. I think for a giveaway to be succesfull, you need at least some beginners and younger people.

Good. I got a few responses. Well, here is my first giveaway. It is a mint, heavy hinged, from Heligoland issued in 1867-68, Scott# 3. If you are a dead country collector or just like getting low numbered Scott numbers, this is a fit. All you need to do is just respond, and I'll pick a name from the hat on July 10.

I'm glad to finally see some semi-serious discussion in this forum. I've always been more of an Accumulator than a true Collector, and come here on occasion to see if I can learn something new.

I've always been partial to low Scott #'s, and would greatly appreciate it if you would count me in for your giveaway.

AFAIK it was. Ya know I wander about the coin forums and add my name to the post without really thinking I'm gonna win. There's usually about 20-40 people that enter. There were three entries in this giveaway and I still can't win.
