Crazy price! Good for you. I probably would let the auction run but I don't blame you for selling early with that price.

    Congratulations!
I too would have liked to see what the card would have gotten on ebay? But that is a lot of money.

That price is great and I'm glad you're happy. I think you're right, it's a big score. But, I have to say this--you gave up the high ground if you let the little woman have any inkling of what you were doing on the computer. She's going to parlay this knowledge if you aren't careful. "We can't afford the payments on a new car," you'll say. "Can't you sell some of your cards," she'll reply. From there it will get worse. I'm here for you my brother, if I can help. I hope it's not too late. Actually, it's a small price for the lesson learned. I'm trying to figure out what to buy for our 24th anniversary next month. I told her that I've sold all of my cards already, so she isn't expecting too much.

Just make sure it doesn't have a plug!!!

I'm in 24 right now - my wife has long given up trying to shut down the computer/ebay/auctions/ runs to Target for Heritage etc.

I guess we have agreed to disagree. I figure she has spent as much over the years on makeup, shoes, trips to the Hairstylist and jewelry!!!

For those ready to get marry - hide your collections!

Ain't dat da truth! Don't leave out eyebrow pluckings, massages, and the pure clutter that she calls "decorations." But, Stone, and I know that you know what I mean, any sentence that begins with the words "I figure . . ." is doomed to the same trash heap with sentences that begin with "I think . . . ", "I know . . ." and "But you . . . " My wife knows exactly how much I'm spending on cards. She isn't saying anything now. She's holding that in reserve for some future moment when its impact will be the greatest. That's part of the challenge!!!image

Maybe I'm the only one lucky enough to have a wife that collects cards as well. Mind you, they're disney cards but she at least doesn't mock the idea of paying money for a piece of cardboard. Still, it's not quite the same. You'd think I could at least understand her thinking in this arena but alas she approaches her collection unlike any normal guy would. You'd have to see the craziness that is her way of organizing her cards. Her collection has taught me that the numbers on the cards can only be seen by men.
