One of the best days of my life (well almost)

I just received 3 orders back (only 1, but 2 should arrive tomorrow):

51 cards total which I split up: 22 went to PSA, 29 went to BGS (10 day service)
I'm literally shaking. Everything came back at the same time.

The one order that came yesterday was from SGC. I sent 22 GAI 10 cards for a second opinion
to Bob Luce for crossover. Only 4 came back SGC 100. I figured GAI just gives out too many 10.
Their (GAI) 10s are not always pristine. Anyways, I'm off to Vegas and I'm buying a lottery ticket.
Just wanted to share. One of the best days ever.

Wow, that's amazing. Congrats! Hopefully the NHL will return while those guys still have their potential.

Congrats EagleEye. Some people might criticize due to the fact that your submissions were all modern cards, but getting 10's and SGC 100's are not easy. Regardless of the cards submitted. To go 19/19 with PSA 10's is just awesome.image

So how do you do it EagleEye?

Are you cherry picking from cases of cards you have opened? Do you scour card shows and buy only the best of the best?

    Congrats on the submissions.

Hi gang. I've bought so many boxes of SP auth, and SPX (my 2 favorite product); my wife is now getting upset.
I've been thrown out of 2 cardshops for being too picky and they get tired of constantly having to go back and look
for more of what I'm looking for and then having me reject them. I will cherry pick at the Naxcom shows when the
doors open, but I've also made some friends with certain dealers. They know what Im looking for, and will hold the
cards for me as I will pay a premium for them. A dealer may hold 10 cards, but I end up only buying 2. I have a loupe
that actually fits over the entire card. It's only 5X magnification (10X will only distort judgement as I don't need to see
microscopic particals.) This puppy has done the trick when I needed to use it.

No, I meant that he's making our grades look like crap. Kind of like the kid in school who always answered all the questions right. That's it Eagle, meet me behind the football stands at 3:00. It's go time.

that is pretty amazing, your eye for grading that is. I also think it speaks volumes about current quality control and immediate preservation trends. In the long run, this can't be all that great for the hobby can it? Maybe the card companies should start cutting cards with dull blades and create condition sensitive sets on purpose. Then maybe a 10 would be something relatively rare. Kinda like a SGC 100. Those are insanely rare.

    Hi Bryan
First - Congratulations! Those grades are off the chart!
I know as much about hockey as ice fishing in the arctic! Are you set or player collecting? Or are these for ebay? Either way, could you like come over to my house and help me select some cards to submit!

Great eye and couldn't happen to a nicer guy!

Holy cow ... 28 of 29 got BGS 9.5 or better? That must have been one sweet lot of cherry-picked cards, hats off to you. But watch your back ... The Beckett collectors who paid mega $$ for 9.5's in recent years are gonna come after you with pitchforks!
