I bought a pack from him that came back as no good. His ebay feedback is now "private"

That is a sad story for me to hear... I bought one pack (luckily not too expensive) from this guy a few months ago after looking at his good feedback, and it arrived very nicely packed and looked fairly good on the wrapper/seal, though I'm no expert. At least he is just slightly smarter than the average resealer, since he provided careful packing and fast shipping. I'll keep an eye on this discussion and see where it leads. I have not sent the pack into GAI yet, but if I do I'll let everyone know how it goes. At the time, it was a bit worrying to see someone sell some GAI graded packs and some ungraded of the same release with both looking of equivalent quality, though. It made it look like the GAI rejected once were the ones being sold ungraded.

  • what's really sad ......is this rebuttal to the accusations..........

    >hi,

    >here is the story since nobody seems to care how i am getting short
    >changed (I just got home and saw all the emails pile up)....
    >
    >i have a younger brother (which some of you already know) and he was always
    jealous of my unopened pack
    >collection. Due to his lack of finances he was never able to purchase the
    >stuff i was privileged to buy (he doesnt have a good job). He always told
    >me how much he really liked my collection but since he has bad credit (no
    >credit cards and no bank account) he was not able to sign up for
    >ebay/paypal. He had a friend of his sign up for an account (peaceonfloor) so it
actually isnt my account. i told him to
    >start by collecting wrappers and card examples of each year since that is
    >WAAAY cheaper. He emailed me often about my collection and wanted to
    >"mirror" my collection with wrappers and cards representing each
    year. his
    >collection is not anywhere close to mine but he is trying. I agreed to use
    >my paypal account ONLY to pay for any items he won through his friend
    >(peaceonfloor) and he would pay me back. I did not want to directly use my ebay
    account since i knew

    >it would look suspicious and didnt want to raise any flags (so much for
    >that idea). whenever a seller didnt accept paypal he sent them a money
    >order. I have a large wall display of packs and he has an equally nice wall

    >display of wrappers/cards. I would even sell items for my brother when he
    >didnt need them which is why i have sold some cards/wrappers and movies in
    >the past...all were his items. I hope this sheds some light on what had
    >happened but i know thanx to nosy people my reputation has been tarnished
    >so now i will not be selling on ebay since my product might not get its
    >full potential bids. i made my feedback private since people were emailing my
past bidders trying to stir up some troubles.

OK, now I'm 100% certain he is a fraud. What a poor excuse. At first, he seemed somewhat intelligent, but now I've changed my mind. Still, I'll send my pack in to get graded with my next batch and see how things go. Maybe only some percentage of his packs were resealed, but I kind of doubt it, since criminal behavior seems addictive for many. Sadly, looking at peaceonfloor's purchases, he might well have been purchasing the raw materials to "create" the pack he sold me.
