Magic photo?

I've had these weird little cards for awhile now and just found out they're called Topps(?) Magic Photo from 1949. They are a little larger than a postage stamp and apparently you had to spit on them or put water on them to develop them right before your eyes.(Black and white like the old polaroid cameras) Anyway I have a Babe Ruth, two Hans Wagner and a Ty Cobb among others, There's also nonsports "stuff" like The Empire State Building, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Abe Lincoln Memorial and some ?wrestling holds! Any body know more about these or where I could get info on their Value? Thanks, max

The SCD has 1948 Topps Magic Photos. Lists in NM Babe Ruth, $400, Cobb, $300, Wagner $135. No listing for Lincoln Memorial or wrestling holds

Run a completed auction search on ebay for "1948 topps magic" to get an idea of some of the prices.

A Ty Cobb recently sold for $129, a Wagner for $56.

There were at least 252 magic photo "cards" issued by Topps in 1948. Only 19 were baseball related. Topps repeated the concept in 1955 and 1956 with their Hocus Focus issues, in which the baseball subjects were again only a subset of a larger issue. The guides are not much use in predicting price, which is always very condition sensitive. As was mentioned previously, the SCD Standard Catalog Of BB Cards lists only the 19 baseball subjects
