1967 Set Building

Just began to start purchasing psa 8 or better cards on Ebay to start my first psa set. Thought I would start with the 1967 set, one of my favs. It will be the only set I will be working now or ever. Do not have cash or time to start multiple sets. Anyway just wanted some advice on purchasing tips of such cards, buy only existing graded or buy some raw, send them in to be graded. I was bidding on some psa 9's and they were commons. Someone wanted them as the final bids were in the $80-$100+ range, to rich for my blood.

I have over three dozen PSA 8s ending this afternoon on eBay. If you win a bunch of them from me (many are still $7.99) I will reduce your shipping to help you save. There are high numbers and stars as well.

good luck with the set. I concentrate on 1 set also. don't worry about it being the only set you will ever do, because it will take forever to complete it

Check out the PSA Registry - almost all the guys in the top ten would be willing to help you or give you some tips, including myself.
Good luck, have fun!
You may be able to pick up some cards cheper raw and grade them yourself just make sure you get a good look at the card and don't rely too much on the sellers grade of the card. Some sellers have a bad habit of overgrading their cards.
Example: I'm working on a 69 OPC hockey set. I picked up a lo series (extremely tuff) single for $2.99 and sent it in. It came back an 8 1/7 with no 9's or 10's.
So you can pick up some items raw to keep your cost down if you look long and hard enough
Of course its easy buying them already graded too.
Best of luck, Bob
