I'm Sad - have to say goodbye to my collection

This really stinks. I've been collecting cards for the past 20 years, and now I have to sell them as I'm moving into a smaller apartment. I feel like someone has taken a dagger and shoved it through my heart. Has anyone else had these horrible feelings when they had to sell their collection? It sucks image

Anyhow if you want to check out what I'm selling (maybe you even want to bid image it's on ebay at:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5165430834

It my entire complete set baseball card collection (over 148 complete sets)

  • how many different message boards are you going to spam with this junk?

When I was reading your post, I felt sad, then happy, then sad again.
  • some other membes slammed me spamming my own ebay auctions. Least mine was vintage, this seems to be all of the mass produced, over supplied late 80's to mid 90's cards. Might do better dumping that a show for a $2 a set or something.
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!

Not that I condone his obvious and blatant spam... in the guys defense it says he has been a member here on the boards since March 2001 which is longer than most of us.
  • mudflap02mudflap02 Posts: 2,060 ✭✭
Yeah, but he's only averaging a little less than a post a year, less if you don't count the spam.
  • its not just the psa boards he's hit- ive seen this lot of junk posted on at least two other boards (mods have already removed one).

whats most amazing about this is how he managed to avoid buying the good sets for every year he collected while loading up on all the over-produced crap. id never take a stock tip from this loser

And wow - most on here would say that I collect mainly junk cards, and I wouldn't even pay for the shipping on that lot. Good luck with it bud.

I hope they leave it up. He honestly needs all the help he can get, and I wouldn't want to have to move that junk.

come on, thats a bit of an exaggeration.. i see no connection between his past auctions and his current one.. except that he unfortunately enjoyed collecting cards during the wrong era?

When I was collecting with my son, I collected the usual suspects - the closet has 90, 91 and 92UD!!!
If anyone wants a factory 92UD set LMK, it's got the 'gold' hologram and very rare!LOL The shipping is probably more than the set is worth!

Wow, way to pile on the guy.

Excuse him for not collecting the 'good' stuff, and pile on him for legitimately trying to sell off his collection.

    Jaded a bit, are we?

I would be willing to bet that he's being piled on becasue his only 4 posts are spamming his ebay auction. If it had been for a low pop 1959 common, I would bet that the reaction would be similar.

  • guess he only comes on here to peddle.

  • Sorry guys. I didn't mean to spam. I thought I saw other people posting links to auctions as well, and didn't see anything that said this was not allowed. Is this not allowed?

As for my collection, I tended to try and get a bunch of sets with the rookies in it. There are some good rookies in these sets even though the rest of the cards are worthless commons. I'm sure I could probably get about $5-10 on average for a set if I sold them individually. Maybe even more since there are some modern bowman sets and sets such as 1985 Topps, 3 sets of 1987 Donruss, a bunch (I think 12) of 1987 Topps Traded with the maddux rookie, (2) 1993 Topps Traded with Helton's rookie, (2) 1995 topps Traded with Beltrans only rookie etc.

I've been trying to get rid of my collection for a while, but just haven't had the time. I'm just going to unload everything in a couple lots now. Next I will be selling my colletion of stars and inserts. I'll post it here if it's ok..... probably won't be for another week or so.

    back to my 1967's...
    ebay:1967topps
1967and 1973 Topps baseball wantlists (any condition) welcome. Once had the #14 ATF 1967 set. Yet another collector like skylaneflyer, gimel1 who made it to the completion of 1967 only to need the money more than the company of 609 close friends.
Looking for oddball Norm Cash and Cleon Jones stuff, and 1956 team cards
  • That's not too bad considering what he was selling. What % of book do you think that is?
