eBay UserID question.

Does anyone know how long it takes for a UserID to come available after they've been kicked off eBay and their Profile shows 'No longer a registered user'.

I may be wrong, but I don't think it ever becomes available once it has been used.

It's gone forever. Besides, why would you want someone's old
name and baggage that person left?

Because the account may become active, the user ID cannot be released
from this account. Only if the account holder gets the account restored
and then changes the user ID.

I always wondered about inactive usernames. I want Southsider (obviously) and judging by the feedback, the user is dead. I wonder if they'd ever release the name after a couple years of inactivity?

Apparently never.. There's another UserID that I would like to use but it's taken. It was registered in '98 and has 0 feedback.. no activity.. eBay should really release the UserID's that are inactive or have been canned after a years time.
