That looks like the list I saw before. I was sure it was in a sig line, but maybe it was a post. It was here though.

  • I know mrpasseo and mongoose each had one at one time.

Yep, mrpaseo had an excellent list all done up in a database. He used to have a link for download.. might want to get his attention and ask if it's still available.

Another somewhat related thing that I stumbled upon the other day was this: Checklist software for pocket PC or cellphone. There are predefined lists for all American coins, and also French Indochina (which is where I found this) and you can easily create your own lists. If you have a handheld that is compatible this might be neat for travel or shows image (I should say that I have no such handheld and haven't tested this, but it does look neat and useful)
  • Ok thanks people, tbirde, had the list I was looking for.

I had it in my sig file, for a long time. Guess I need to check my server to see if it still exists. BTW, I got the list from Mongoose, and with his permission, I just hosted it for him.

  • checked, it is still there. I never use my account with Comcast for anything, so there is plenty of bandwidth available, if anybody wants to link to it.

  • I'm glad that list is still floating around, and anyone is welcomed to use it, link it, share it.image

It was based on the listings in Krause 29th Ed., and is more of a list of "issuing authorities" within each country's 20th Century history. It includes Countries, their States, Provinces, Protectorates, Kingdoms, Princely States, Territories, and various different Governments that all produced coinage. The dates are only quick guides to differentiate between issuers, they aren't meant to provide exact reigns or status with historical accuracy.

Mr paseo and I worked this up to integrate into his database, so it does exist in a few forms.

I may eventually finish the 19th century list.
