    Oh, I dunno. Like Sylvestius, I think it's kinda neat. It needs a little loop or somethin' at the top of the crescent above his head, so one could hang it as an ornament. I'm surprised there isn't one. It looks like it was gilded. Perhaps it was a watch fob or somethin'. Whatever the case, it certainly looks to have been cut no later than WWI, if the coin's grade is any indicator. What's the date on that one?

    Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.

  • If the insides of the cuts were sharpened, you could use it as a letter opener. Maybe -- what is the diameter of the original coin?
