Cleopatra

Hey all,

Are there any coins that feature Cleopatra?

Comments

  • Yes, there are Egyptian bronzes that feature the bust of Cleopatria. But from what I've seen they're pretty rare and cost a pretty penny. Coins of her predecessors ( I have a Cleopatria coin of around 204-180 BC, but she is an earlier Cleopatra) are not expensive.

  • which reminds me-- you CAN get a roman legionarry denarious of marc antony (struck around 30 b.c) which were struck around the time
of the famous Marc Antony-Cleopatra affair. No picture of her on them though, but they ARE pretty inexpensive considering their history.
You can probably get a worn one for under $30

Don't forget, there were a number of Cleopatras. The famous one was Cleopatra VII, I believe.

Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.

True, but she was the only Cleopatra to rule as pharaoh.
