I think Turner only got 1 game under his belt as manager before Kuhn prohibited him. That was the same season that he signed Andy Messersmith and tried to get Messersmith to wear the word Channel with the number 17 on the back of his jersey (WTBS was Channel 17).

according to the phil pepe book "talkin baseball an oral history of baseball in the 70's" the story according to braves pitcher buzz capra was the braves had lost 13 or 14 straight and turner told dave bristol to take a few days off,he was going to take over. but, turner didn't manage the team,vern benson a coach made all the moves.turner sat on the bench in full uniform. but ted is officialy a manager for 1 game according to baseballreference.com it was a loss
