Finally have a Stephen

Received a Stephen Penny in the mail today. It is S-1278 and is graded VF by Allen Berman from whim I bought it. Unfortunately I can't get a decent scan of the coin. The coin is ex-Glendining 6/11/91 lot 446 and Spinks 2003.

Those are as common as dirt, I hope you didn't pay more than $5 for it!

For those in the Connecticut area, Allen will be setup at the West Haven show this Sunday. He'll have all kinds of darkside stuff from ancients to middle ages to hammered to modern. He's a great guy to talk coins!

I have talked to Allen at a couple national shows and I agree. He is a great guy to talk coins with and a wonderful seller who is very polite and respectful of all his customers whether they are buying $5 worth of coins or $5000.

Maybe that overpriced chunk of silver (you really got stuck for $8.50?? image ) was once in the purse of Davy, King Stephen's Lardiner......believe it or not!!

I always like the Stephen pennies! image

I bought my King Stephen penny from my 'local' coinshop in York, the question is though have i ever been to the Davygate gate? I know i've been to a few of them and i've walked around parts of the city walls a few times. I wonder if it one of those going up the road to the right from the train station?

I dunno though it's always a city i manage to get lost in, so far as you can actually get lost cos what actually happens is you just go round in circles... (i'm sure i've been past that bridge before). image
