btw i will still collect his cards and have no shame in that. I would never cheat on my wife but i do understand that NO ONE in this world is perfect and that we all make mistakes and we should be taught to forgive people for their mistakes

I have a feeling it's only gonna get worse.
Does anybody really think that if that woman hadn't blown the whistle on Kobe that he would have went home to his wife and said, "Oh Vanessa, I screwed up and I'm so sorry and I promise it will never happen again." - Not a chance!

the wrong time! The pressures at home and on the court were so great, he just had to go out and rape
someone! I mean come on, all the problems...shaq thinks he owns the team, Kobe's jump shot not
as great as it was, all that money and nothing to spend it on.....can anyone blame this guy for what he
did?
Undertaker...go back to your red light district and your scuzzy immoral women, Kobe got off big time..you
know, I know it and everyone herw knows it! The only place this moran should be is in a cell next to
Jason Williams!

Also, if you've ever actually witnessed the incredible stress that the victim goes through at one of these trials, well, it isn't pretty. The entire strategy of the defense team is to tear her down....emotionally she would have been wrecked even more so than the actually incident would have. Her entire life would have been strewn about as if it were nothing more then refuse for the defense to go through and wear her down over and over until she broke.
Let me ask those people who felt she was only after the money; if Kobe was so 'innocent' as you all claim him to be, if you felt that she was only after a payday, why did he pay her off? Why didn't he go through with the trial, and let the court show him to be innocent? To me, it screams out he wanted to shut her up with a paycheck. If he truly was innocent, then he never would have agreed to pay her a dime.
I am glad that his sponsors have wisened up and dropped him from their endorsements. He is a poor character for anyone to emulate.
Why didn't HE go thru with the trial ? She's the one who decided at the last minute to not testify. From what i've heard Kobe dosen't plan on giving that girl a cent and isn't the civil trial still set. Every legal expert that i've heard talk about this whole thing has said that this D.A rushed to judgement at even bring these charges up on Kobe in the first place
Is it that farfetched that a ballplayer with many millions of dollars is falsely accused of a crime ? Do you people actually think this sort of thing has never happened before. Even friends of the girl who attended college with her have come out and said that they definetly question her motives. And these are people who actually KNEW the girl.

Yes, why didn't he? If he's the saint you paint him to be (and we all know he isn't....as saints don't cheat on their wives...and this certainly wasn't the first time he's cheat on her), why didn't he stand up in court, and let justice be served against her if these allegations (you claim) to be so baseless? I find it ridiculous that anyone would think he's innocent of this crime...if he truly was, he would have pressed on.
Do you think it was also coincidence that her name was 'accidentally' leaked to the media by the prosecution? How fair is it to her that as the accused, she had to go into exile for fear of her own safety, while he reaped the glory of being such a 'hero' of balancing his courtroom appearances with playing a game?
This case typifies all of what's wrong in this country; if you have money and fame, you will never see the inside of a jail cell. Jayson Williams should be doing life in prison; Kobe should be doing 25 years; O.J. should have seen the death penalty; but hey, you got some money, you got fame, you don't have to worry.
I for one am sick to death of these Kobe backers justifying what he did. He's filth who doesn't deserve to walk the streets as a free man; yet he does, and will make untold millions to do so. What disappoints me most about this entire ordeal is the way that he's been made out to be the victim in all this. People coming to say that he was only accused because he was a black man, and most of Eagle County, Colorado is white. It sickens me that anyone would rush to defend him.
And the worst part of all this? I am sure he's most saddened by the loss of the millions in endorsement money....and not by the harm his actions have inflicted upon his family or that girl.
"False accusations of rape are by no means unusual. In some cases, they are the rule. ... (One study) found that 'False rape allegations constituted 41 percent of the total forcible rapes reported during (a 9-year) period.' A Harvard law professor reports that the woman in charge of prosecuting sexual-assault crimes in New York reported that out of approximately 4,000 rape allegations in Manhattan each year, about one-half of them just didn't happen. Another study states that 50 percent of all rape allegations lodged on college campuses in the United States are false. "
-- Neal Boortz, WorldNetDaily,
Bryant's attorneys have already argued the woman falsely accused Bryant to gain the attention of a former boyfriend, and that she was given nearly $20,000 from a victims' compensation fund. Experts say the civil case is more fodder for the argument that the woman has a financial motive to pursue the case.
"Now all of a sudden it looks like this whole thing was for money. If it's otherwise, then why would she file a civil case?" said Dan Recht, former president of the Colorado Criminal Bar Association. "In my mind, they would never file a civil case without having a strategy of getting the criminal case dismissed."
Funny how plenty of other athletes have the morals and strength to not be tempted by "these women". They know what they are doing and are not the innocent babes in the woods, lol. I also know that they think their money and fame and give them the feeling that they can do anything they want and get away with it. People don't say "no" to them, so for a young woman to say no when things went too far, didn't sit well with him. It is so obvious that he knew what he did was wrong, just look at his apology.
"First, I want to apologize directly to the young woman involved in this incident. I want to apologize to her for my behavior that night and for the consequences she has suffered in the past year. Although this year has been incredibly difficult for me personally, I can only imagine the pain she has had to endure. I also want to apologize to her parents and family members, and to my family and friends and supporters, and to the citizens of Eagle, Colo.
"I also want to make it clear that I do not question the motives of this young woman. No money has been paid to this woman. She has agreed that this statement will not be used against me in the civil case. Although I truly believe this encounter between us was consensual, I recognize now that she did not and does not view this incident the same way I did. After months of reviewing discovery, listening to her attorney, and even her testimony in person, I now understand how she feels that she did not consent to this encounter.
"I issue this statement today fully aware that while one part of this case ends today, another remains. I understand that the civil case against me will go forward. That part of this case will be decided by and between the parties directly involved in the incident and will no longer be a financial or emotional drain on the citizens of the state of Colorado."
was a condition of the woman withdrawing her testimony.
"Kobe was facing life in prison for a crime he did not commit," they told Gray.
"The accuser insisted on that statement as the price for his freedom.
The statement doesn't change the facts: Kobe is innocent and now he is free."
One of these days I would love to see one of these star athletes pay for their crime, and don't nobody say Rae Carruth because he wasn't that good. Had he scored a few more touchdowns he'd be walking the streets too.
IE: Someone won't collect anyone who was on the 2004 olympic team, because they didn't bring home the gold and don't feel they are good role models. They also won't collect anyone who declined to go and play either, because both things don't make good role models in their opinion.
No matter what, people are going to pick and choose who they collect for their own personal reasons, whether it be money, favorite player, or favorite team. No one is perfect and although everyone has their own personal problems, whether it be known or not, people will still collect them.

Urgh.. EVERY time you fail to get the point.
Also, what's a "moran"?
And like I said numerous times before: quit proving your own ignorance. The guy who shot someone was Jayson Williams. But since you know squat about the NBA you wouldn't know.
