Signing conditions by athletes?

What are some signing conditions you have seen made by athletes at autograph sessions? Every once in a while I'll check Tristar's site to see who is signing and what the asking price. Understandably I've seen that Kirby Puckett wouldn't sign the SI cover that was a story about his domestic violence situation. Apparently Rod Carew won't sign un-signed jerseys (will he sign signed jerseys 
), jersey numbers, or Legends magazines. What's the deal with that?
Some of the conditions are understandable (Puckett), others are puzzling (Carew), is there something I'm missing?

I think it's pretty cool that Bill Buckner will sign photos of the play, apparently in good humor.
