Any experts on George III copper out there? (NOW THAT AJAAN IS GONE CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE COINS?)

I know that slight differences in the ship on the reverse of 1797-1799 copper coins were used to track dies or perhaps when, by whom the coins mere made. My qusetion what do we now know about what the differences mean, are there any records?

I used to collect first pressings of Beatles records, but that doesn't help here!

Mono or Stereo? I mean if the thread is ruined, no harm in asking. The early Capitol Mono LPS sell for more.

The first four fab four albums (made in the UK) were all in "fake stereo." The CDs were in mono only, so I never bought 'em.

  • From Peck

" Fifty or more different ships of variety (a) (5 incuse gunports on ship) could probably be distinguished. The sea also appears to vary with each ship, as it was doubtless engraved at the same time that the ship was punched in."

That only covers the 5 gunport variety. There is still the 6, and 9 gunports, the plain hull, and raised line along the lenght of hull. Plus a bunch of other varieties that deal with raised dots, letters etc..........image
