It's a cool card... Becketts BV's on older cards are WAYYYYYY out of date though. Look at the sales of these more current cards and their BV's in Beckett... The patch books $1,400 and that is one sweet a$$ patch and it only sold for 2/3 current Beckett BV. The SP Signature was just used to show what you can get other Jordan auto's numbered to /50 for.

I still have inserts that book for $30 in Beckett but close for .99 (and usually without bids). I bought a Yzerman insert from '97 with a Beckett value of $400 for $14 on ebay 3-4 months ago. Beckett is full of crap on BV's... Oooops, sorry for ranting.
Again, nice card anyways
Nice card Allen!

Yeah but still. This Jordan ain't worth $5,000. It's been on eBay like 50 times (from the same seller) who can't get any bids at $999.

Me? WTF are you talking about? Must be somebody else you're talking about... Anywho, I'm simply saying these two things. The auto is nice... No arguements. Never said it wasn't. But Beckett is full of $hit and price guides don't mean much anymore. Here's the reason. Beckett says a card books for $4000. If it sells on ebay for $1000, then they are saying it sells somewhere else for $7000 because they say their prices are averages of all sales. But no one is going to pay $7000 for an auto that books for $4000. So prices basically have to drop and Beckett doesn't reflect that. I think Beckett can be useful for initial pricing on new releases, but they obviously are out of touch with older products. And as I said, an auto numbered to 50 is still only an auto numbered to 50, no matter what. I do agree some auto's carry more weight if they are within a set because of the set makers, but I think Beckett is a joke. When a person says a card normally sells for 20% book, that should translate to the card only booking for a lower percentage. I sell most of my GU for 75% OFF Beckett. Why? Because that's all it normally pulls on ebay. I occasionally sell them for around 50% of Beckett on the sites, but rarely. And they don't sell for full price at most shows either. So where does Beckett get their values? Think about it...
Thanks

If the average sale price was $1-$2 everywhere, well then yes that would be what I am saying. If Beckett truly got their book values by sales averages, then consider this...
Beckett has a game used that books for $10. A $10 game used can normally sell for $2-$3 (if it sells at all) on ebay. Then you go to your local card shop. Most that I deal with would have that card for sale for between half and 2/3 Beckett value ($5-$7). Go to a trade show... Usually they sell between ebay sales and the card shop sales ($2-$7). Now as far as private sales which usually go unreported, most people still use Beckett as a guide and MOST would never pay more than Beckett price for a $10 GU. So on average, the sale price of this card is between $2-$10. Now if Beckett honest takes the average sales of these, doesn't the Beckett value have to drop? The avearge reported sales would put the BV more around $6.
THEN, the cycle would restart. Prices would almost always be dropping as Beckett is a means many use to determine sales and most people will never pay full BV anymore and certainly never over BV. They almost always pay a lesser percentage, which would create a continually dropping market... Did you pay $4000 for the Jordan? Of course not. Let's guess you paid $800 as the other on ebay never sells at $1000. That would mean for Beckett to have the card priced correctly (average sales), someone else in the word is paying over $7000 for a card that Beckett only has at $4000. Is that happening in todays market? LOL, hell NO. So explain to me how Beckett means jack.
<< <i>Hmmm, by your description is it card # 38/50?

Funny you should point out this auction. This seller has had this same card on ebay on at least thirty separate occasions.
$1500 is too much for that card, as no one has ever bid on the card.
Still a nice card though.
Thanks
