The riddles:

Joan and Jane are sisters. Jean is Joan's daughter and 12 years younger than her aunt. Joan is twice as old as Jean. Four years ago, Joan was the same age as Jane is now, and Jane was twice as old as her niece. How old is Jean?

Find a simple method of solving:
6751X + 3249Y = 26751
3249X + 6751Y = 23249

Problem 1 X=3.9625241
Y=0

Problem 2 X=7.1557402
Y=0

I probabaly did all this and it is wrong.

i sucked at high school math- i sat beside this one girl that was real smart so it was all good lol. I learned a lot about curves and friction from her lol

He found the answer, not a simple method.

Find a simple method of solving:
6751X + 3249Y = 26751
3249X + 6751Y = 23249

multiply each element in the first equation by 3249, and each element in the 2nd equation by 6751
(6751 times 3249) X + (3249 times 3249) Y = 26751 times 3249

(6751 times 3249) X + (6751 times 6751) Y = 6751 times 23249

The X elements cancel out if you subtract the sides of the first equation from those of the second equation

(6751 times 6751) minus (3249 times 3249) Y = (6751 times 23249) minus (26751 times 3249)

since (6751 times 23249) equals ((6751 times 20000) plus (6751 times 3249)) and (26751 times 3249) equals ((20000 times 3249) plus (6751 times 3249)), 6751 times 3249 cancels itself out, leaving (6751 times 20000) minus (3249 times 20000) as the right side of the equation, or 3502 times 20000 (also known as 70040000)

Now it's just a simple job with a calculator or longhand multiplication to simplify the left side of the equation

(45576001 minus 10556001) Y = 35020000 Y

35020000 Y = 70040000
or Y = 2

Then,
6751 X plus 6498 = 26751
6751 X = 20253
X = 3

That's a simple method.

It is a riddle remember- not real math- i had to look at the numbers long enough to realize that they made equal numbers if added top to bottom, that gives you this. 10000X + 10000Y = 50000
Then you just divide everything by 10,000 and you come to X + Y = 5 (I was kinda screwed here, took my 20 more mins lol)

I tried a few other things then realized if you subtract top to bottom you get 3502X - 3502Y = 3502
Then divide everything by 3502 and get X - Y = 1

Then plug in numbers for X until you findd one that works for both, thus X = 3 and Y = 2

How simple was that ? lol I think that Johnson should be a PSA 10 after all that lol
