I just called Stack's and although the lady was very nice, they did not have prices realized as yet. She said to call back in the morning. So I'll give it another try in about 20 hours.....

Maybe it's not too late to bid?

Okay, I just called and I didn't do as well as I had expected although I did claim 7 of the 15 lots I bid on. I didn't get any of my top five pieces. The new medals/medallions are as follows...
K-67, K-127, K-133, K-160, K-175, K-224, and K-603
I was only maxed out on one of my bids...ALL the rest of my winning bids were mysteriously 10% below my max bid. I don't know what the hammer price was on the lots I lost, at least not yet...
Okay Andy, being facetious again? Think about it, doesn't it seem strange that all of my winning bids were exactly 10% below high bids across the board? This implies to me that all my winning high bids had the percentage taken off so as to make them appear legitimate...the only thing stranger would be all my winning bids hammered out at the max. Oh well, not a whole helluva a lot to do except not bid next time.

<< <i>The same thing happened to me a couple of years ago. That's when I stopped bidding on Stack's mail bid sales, not auctions. >>

The same thing was going through my mind... 'Auction' is a very loose term here. What is this, an American only thing?
