OT: NEED SOME HELP, JIMMIE FOXX RELATED

hi, i recently inherited a 1929 world series home run ball that was hit by jimmie foxx. my great grandfather was at the game and caught it himself. after the game he went and got it signed by jimmie foxx and al simmons. it was recently passed down to me. I have a few questions. does anyone know where i could get it authenticated (not just the signatures, but also the fact that it is a 1929 world series home run ball hit by jimmie foxx.) also does anyone have any idea how much it is worth??? also if i were to sell it, where woudll you reccommend selling it, ebay or some auction house, like in ny or somehting??? any help is appreciated.

    I would recommend starting at the PSA/DNA link at the top right corner of this very page, and i'd certainly recommend getting it authenticated before selling it, or you'll get a lot less for it. Very nice item though, i'd consider keeping it, especially considering your great grandfather caught it and had it auto'd....

    Research tells me that Jimmie Foxx hit Home Runs in both Game 1 and Game 2 of the 1929 World Series (October 8th & 9th) on the road in Chicago. Did your grandfather keep a ticket stub or program from that game? While the autograph's can be authenticated (PSA/DNA), the fact that it was actually a home run ball may be impossible to prove (unless noted on ball, etc). I would keep it as a family heirloom, but if you eventually decide to sell it, good luck!

    my great grandfather did write the info of the games on the ball. like it says 1929 world series and it has some facts written on it.

    I would hold onto it, pass it down to your kids. Something like that I would definitely keep in the family.

    Would bring decent money as an auto ball but would be near impossible to prove it was a HR ball. Wouldn't get a huge sum of money for it. Keep it, unless you really need the money.
