How is the new Krause?

From what I was told the 2003 Krause was messed up, so I bought a 2002 one. But it's only for the 20th Century and I need one for the 19th Century. But the only ones for the 19th Century on eBay are the new ones.

Are the new ones that cover 1801 to 1900 ok? I don't really wanna spend that much for it, but if I do, I want it to be good.

I'm not sure the changes that affected the 2003 edition reached back to the volumes covering earlier centuries, yet. I still use a 2002, myself, and the second edition for the 18th and 19th centuries. (Still stuck on the first edition for the 17th century book).

Thanks LM. I guess I'll have to try my luck with the new one if I don't find anybody with a 2nd edition for sale.

Surely somebody with a recently-purchased 19th C. edition will be able to help you. My second edition came out in 1999, I believe.

I have a 3rd edition 19th century Krause and I find it to be OK. It is not in the newer format of the 2003 and 2004 20th century editions.

I am alittle behind the times...I do not have any of the new Krause Catalogs.

I have a 19th century Krause, 3rd edition, and find it well laid out and quite easy to use. I've never seen the 2nd edition so I cannot compare the two.

On the other hand, the 3rd edition of the 17th century bites and I much prefer the second edition.

I have the third edition of the 19th, 18th and 17th century Krause catalogs and find them all to be fine. The 30th and 31st edition of the 20th century books BLOW HUGE CHUNKS! They might be o.k. for wrapping fish, but that is about all.

The 31st edition of the 20th century is better than the 30th edition but still nowhere as good as the 29th.

How is the new Krause?
