Wow, I'd have thought you'd at least get a 9 for such a price.
What would a 10 be worth, 10K??? Would anyone care? I'm serious, the Red Man market, especially graded is very thinly traded (not knocking it, but this isn't 52 Topps baseball)...
Why do I get the feeling, that some cards are worth money, while others are not?
It's a nice card and the 52's are the toughest of the bunch. But with an SMR of $925, I think the seller might not see a sale at over 4 times smr... even though the smr is off. You never know though.
You are right that there aren't the same number of buyers on red man's as 52's and that these cards graded are traded more thinly. But the market for the high grade one's seem to get a lot of bidders on ebay. And the prices seem to be strong (most of the times).
The one thing with red man cards is that you won't find DSL with a big bunch of 9's and 10's as mentioned in the 69 thread. So the tears might not be as big...
Guys, The seller is Levi...enough said for anyone who knows his capacity gouge. The '52s are super tough and the Feller is one of the sets most attractive. While 4k is a large hunk of bait, a big enough fish is already circling and saying..."Yeah it's a gouge, but where the heck am I gonna find another one???..." Check that tab closely, Tony dgf
I also noticed 707 was selling it. In fact, they have a few other auctions currently running that fit into the "gouge" category. But I know the feeling: he wants a ridiculous price for the card, but there is a legitimate chance that there will never be another one. I know, never say never in this business, but you know what I mean. Same thing with this Bobby Orr rookie.. This is a good $1000 over what it usually brings, though, I must say this is one of the best 8s I've ever seen. I suppose I would bite if I was in the market for this card, albeit, begrudgingly. The Feller reminds me of a 1954 Bowman Phil Rizzuto PSA 8 someone had (BMW?). The first card in the set, an obvious low pop, and an SMR of about $925. Seller wanted $4000 retail.

the last 8 on ebay sold for almost $5 grand. for some reason that card is huge right now
